Vehicle Accident with Entrapment – Dumfries Rd

April 14, 2021 at approximately 0600 hours units were alerted for a Crash with Entrapment in the area of Dumfries Rd (Rt.605) and Whippoorwill Dr. Engine 1B and Rescue 1 responded along with units from New Baltimore and Fauquier County.Units arrived to find two vehicles with heavy damage and 1 occupant still trapped in the vehicle on it’s side.Rescue 1 worked rapidly to stabilize the vehicle and extricate the patient. The extrication was delicate in nature given the the patients position in the vehicle and took careful technique by the Rescue crew. The patient was extricated and care was turned over to Medic 10. The patients from both vehicles were flown to a local trauma center.Units: Engine 1B, Rescue 1, Medic 1, Medic 10, Engine 10, BC1, EMS1101, AirCare 1, AirCare 3
