On Tuesday, August 1st, around 0700 hrs, Box 0112 was struck for the traffic crash with entrapment. A car had crashed into the back of a large truck hauling logs. When on scene, personnel discovered that the patient in the car was both pinned and trapped. Wagon 1, Rescue 1, and Medic 1 worked to free the patient. Assistant Chief 1 held command for the duration of the incident and Battalion Chief 1 assisted with overall operations. A helicopter was requested for the patient and Engine 2 set up the landing zone in a nearby parking lot. The road was completely shut down for approximately 45 minutes.
