On Thursday, November 17th units from the WVFC and Fauquier County were alerted to traffic collision with one person trapped inside. Crews arrived to find a single vehicle that had sustained moderate/severe damage off the roadway and found one occupant that was indeed trapped inside the vehicle. Vehicle extrication was performed and took approximately 10 minutes to free the trapped occupant. A medical helicopter was called simultaneously to transport the patient to a waiting trauma center, as a result James Madison Hwy was shut down for approximately 30 minutes. All fire department personnel cleared the scene shortly there after turning the reminder over to law enforcement.
