On Friday, January 15th, Company 1 was alerted for a traffic collision with entrapment. Dispatched information stated a vehicle that had rolled across multiple lanes of traffic with one occupant trapped. Batt.1 arrived first and confirmed the dispatched information. Engine and Rescue 1 arrived together and went to work extricating the sole occupant. Extrication lasted approximately 15 minutes, the occupant was removed from the vehicle and turned over to a waiting EMS crew, who treated the patient and transferred care to awaiting medical helicopter who flew the occupant to a trauma center. Wagon 1 Bravo established a landing zone at the scene of the accident.
