Structure Fire – Spotsylvania St

Tuesday, June 30, 2015 1844 – Box 0134 sounded for the residential structure fire. Engine 1, Medic 1, and Ambulance 1-2 arrived on scene to find a two story residential home that was well involved with fire through the roof. Engine 1 established command until it was assumed by a WVFC command officer. Engine 1 advanced an 1 3/4″ attack line to the second floor while Medic 1 pulled a back up line and did a search of the basement. No occupants were home at the time of the fire. Both crews worked together in extinguishing the bulk of the fire on the second floor as other units arrived on scene to assist in suppression operations. The majority of the fire was extinguished within about 15-20 minutes. Crews from Warrenton, DFRM, New Baltimore, DoD, The Plains, and Marshal worked over the next few hours extinguishing hot spots and overhauling the fire. No fire personnel or civilian injuries were reported. The homeowner was later evaluated and transported for a medical issue unrelated to the fire. The single occupant was displaced due to the fire but declined Red Cross services.

Units on assignment: E1, W3, W4, W10, E19, R1, TW1, M1, AMB 1-2, U1
