Sunday, August 2, 2015 1232 Box 0703 sounded for the structure fire. Engine 1, Tanker 1, and Rescue 1 were all called to the scene along with units from Catlett, New Baltimore, Lois, DFREM, and Prince William County. Initial dispatch stated that an RV was on fire and threatening the nearby home. First arriving units from Catlett found both the RV and the home well involved. Chief 10 established command while units pulled multiple attack lines for a defensive operation. The Tanker shuttle utilized both Vint Hill and a nearby pond to keep up with the water supply demand. The majority of the fire was extinguished in approx an hour. Crews then spent the next few hours overhauling and extinguishing hot spots. A cat was located in the basement and brought out to safety of its owners. One Fauquier Sheriff Deputy was transported for an injury sustained on the fire ground. No other injuries were reported. Two occupants were displaced.
