Box 0133 was sounded for a smoke electrical odor outside. Within minutes of the Wagon marking up as responding dispatch advised that callers were calling back and reporting smoke inside. The assignment was upgraded to a working structure fire. The structure can be seen exiting town. Wagon one was able to advise that smoke was showing from the front (Alpha) and right (Delta) sides of the structure and transmitted a request for a second alarm. Wagon one arrived on scene confirming the previous with fire showing from the eaves of a 2 story motel. Command was established and passed to Chief one on his arrival. Initial reports of trapped persons on the second floor were found to be incorrect. No occupants were trapped or injured. The building was evacuated without incident. The main fire was located over room 210 and the surrounding attic space above. The fire was extinguished and the affected areas were checked for extension. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office.
