Sunday, February 1, 2015 20:15 – Box 0138 was struck for a reported working structure fire. Wagon 1 arrived on scene and advised that they had a one story single family dwelling with fire showing from the roof. After a 360 of the structure it was confirmed that there was a working fire in the delta quadrant. Wagon 1 advanced an attack line to extinguish the fire, while Tanker 1 threw ladders, deployed a backup line and searched for victims. Crews removed three dogs from the structure. Chief 10 held command and later transferred to AC1. Once the fire was knocked, crews were rotated into the structure to finish hitting hot spots, and complete overhaul. Company 1 units remained on scene for approx. 2 hours total. Two of the three dogs did not survive their injuries. The surviving dog was take to a emergency veterinarian. No other civilian injuries were reported. The fire displaced 3 adults. Red cross is providing assistance. The sheriff’s office is investigating the cause of the fire. One firefighter was injured and transported to the ER as a precaution.
