Structure Fire – Falmouth St.

Thursday, February 12, 2015 18:51 – Box 0105 was struck for a reported structure fire. Chief 1 arrived on scene first to find a large one story wood frame structure with fire showing (and through the roof) in approx. half of the structure. Chief 1 established command with other WVFC units arriving shortly thereafter to start suppression operations. WVFC apparatus quickly secured a water supply and started to attack the fire. Tower 1 used their aerial device/ladder pipe to knock the bulk of the fire down. Crews pulled additional attack lines for exposure protection (inside and outside of the structure) to ensure no additional fire spread.

Initial reports advised no one was inside the structure and this was confirmed by building management and owners. A primary search was conducted as well to ensure the same. No report of injuries to anyone or fire/rescue personnel. Crews worked for the next two hours ensuring overhaul of the fire area was complete so there was no extension into the rest of the structure. The cause of the fire is not known and is under investigation.

Units on the assignment: C1, W1, E1, R1, T1, U1, W10, W2, E19, W7, M14
