The Warrenton Volunteer Fire Company (WVFC) participated in our second annual outreach event that was in conjunction with one of the Warrenton Baptist Church’s non-denominational out-reach programs, known as “Operation In As Much”. The goal was to ensure residents had sufficient and properly working smoke alarms. Our combined teams (fire department and church volunteers) walked several local neighborhoods on Saturday October 10th, talking with residents about the importance of working smoke alarms. Crews provided door-hangers with applicable information to residents that were not home or unavailable.
A very special thank you to Piedmont Press and Graphics who once again donated these door hangers. This is the second year we have partnered for this outreach event and plan for its continued success. Smoke alarm(s) and/or batteries were installed FREE OF CHARGE by our teams. 45 new smoke alarms were installed while visiting almost 200 homes. Due to out of date/non- working smoke alarms and/or the non-existence of any working smoke alarms in the home, crews had a full day of inspecting and/or installing new smoke alarms and batteries.
