Our stations are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year by volunteer and career personnel. Volunteers are the primary staffing for Fire and EMS responses. The Town of Warrenton provides (2) specialize Firefighter/EMT’s that staff Monday-Friday 6 am to 6 pm. The Fauquier County Department of Fire and Rescue provides a single 24 hour Advanced Life Support crew of (2) at EMS Station One.
Upon completing the application process and acceptance into our organization, you will request to be assigned to a duty crew.
Nighttime Crews: 6 pm – 6 am the following morning.
Weekday Crew: 6 am – 6 pm (Usually reserved for qualified FF/EMT’s or special requests).
Weekend Coverage: We ask that members provide additional time to cover Saturday and Sunday day crew.
Either a 12 hour shift day/night or a 24 hour shift.
You will be required to attend your duty crew or find a fill in unless prior arrangements have been made with your duty officer. In addition, you are also required to attend the Monthly Drill on the first Monday of every month, the company meeting on the second Monday of every month (accept July and August), and the Company Drill on the third Saturday of every month.
Your family and your job always come first so if a conflict in your schedule occurs and you will not be able to attend duty on any given night, contact your duty crew officer. Once you are released to operate in a staffed position you are being relied upon by the community and company to provide a service. We are very much a family orientated environment. Yet it is imperative that potential recruits understand the level of effort and responsibility involved.
