OCTOBER 9th-15th is National Fire PreventionWeek, and this year the focus is on the age of your smoke alarms! In honor of Fire Prevention Week we will be posting fire safety tips throughout the week, starting with the theme of this year. You can refer to the National Fire Protection Agency Smoke Alarm Tips page at the end of this post for more smoke alarm tips.
The Warrenton Volunteer Fire Company will be conducting a smoke alarm campaign this coming Saturday October 15th, 2016 in partnership with Inasmuch United around the Town of Warrenton from 9am till noon.
We also recommend the following location of your Smoke Alarms:
- Smoke alarms should be installed in every sleeping area of your home
- Smoke alarms should be installed on every level of your home
- Keep smoke alarms away from your kitchen to decrease the number of false alarms
