At approximately 2115hrs. on Friday night (July 3rd), Engine 1 was dispatched to an outside gas leak in the 9400 Blk. of Lee Hwy (Rt. 211).
Upon arrival, Engine 1 found a large propane tank actively leaking after being struck by a car. After initial attempts to stop the leak were unsuccessful, Engine 1 upgraded the call, which included Loudoun County’s Hazmat Team to “flare” off the remaining propane. The first WVFC unit arrived at approx 2130hrs and the last WVFC did not clear the scene until shortly after 0600hrs the following morning.
