Former Chief Sam Tarr Receives Award

On Saturday, May 27th 2017 crews from the WVFC awarded the Skeeter Craun Award to former Fire Chief Sam Tarr. The Skeeter Craun Award is a lifetime achievement award for the Warrenton Volunteer Fire Company. The award is for a life member of the company that has contributed greatly, and recognizes their dedication, strong work ethic, and the path they forged toward a well-known, respected and successful organization. Pictured are Chief Tarr’s family, Chief Tarr with Mayor Duggan of Warrenton, and, Councilman Kravetz of the Town Council of Warrenton. The last picture is of the past recipients of the Skeeter Craun Award from left to right: Former Chief Dale Koglin, Former Chief Steve Ross, Former Chief Sam Tarr, Former Lieutenant Roy Crane(still active), these individuals make up almost 200 years of service. Congratulations to Chief Tarr.
