Flashover Recognition Class

On Sunday September 20th members attended the Flashover Recognition Class in Loudoun County at their Fire and Rescue Training Center. A flashover is defined as a hostile fire event that ignites an entire room and its contents in seconds and reaches temperatures  of above 1000 degrees Fahrenheit. If a firefighter is caught in this event the risk of injury or loss of life is very high even protected by fire gear. The members participated in live fire evolution’s to aid them in recognizing this event prior to it’s happening. Members had a blast, and learned very valuable and life saving knowledge. A special and big THANK YOU to Lieutenant Morris and the Instructor Cadre for a great day and great class!
