On Saturday December 19th, 2015 10 members from the WVFC and fire service brothers and sisters from surrounding jurisdictions spent 8 hours with Chief Rick Lasky during a seminar. Topics included “Our History: This should be Day 1 in the Academy!” “Five Alarm Leadership: Real Leadership With Real People”, “Sweating the Small Stuff: Keeping Your People Safe and Alive”. Chief Rick Lasky is a retired Fire Chief, with 35 years of service, he teaches several programs across the country and at FDIC. He is published by PennWell Books in Fire Engineering Magazine, and has two books “Pride & Ownership A Firefighters Love of the Job” and “Five Alarm Leadership: From Firehouse to Fireground”. Members gained valuable knowledge, had some great laughs and an overall great day was had with Chief Lasky. Thank you Chief for the day, looking forward to meeting again.
