Box 0123 was sounded for a victim trapped by a tractor that rolled over on a hill side. W1, T1, M1, W1B, and AC1 responded. AirCare was immediately dispatched due to the situation and special call was placed for a heavy duty wrecker from Rosson & Troilo. Upon arrival T1 and W1 crew immediately went to work stabilizing the 1 ton tractor with a bush hog attached. The victim was pinned beneath the seat and transmission of the tractor and the ground. M1’s crew evaluated the patient and placed dual large diameter I.V.’s and administered pain relieving medications. At the same time T1 and W1B set up an Air bag lifting system. This relieved some pressure but did not free the victim. The heavy duty wrecker arrived and lifting slings placed. The tractor was lifted and the victim was removed to safety. AirCare transported the victim to INOVA Fairfax Trauma Center.
