On Monday, November 5th at 2359 hrs, units were dispatched to the reported commercial structure fire on Broadview Avenue. Units arrived on scene to find heavy smoke from the roof of the commercial structure. Personnel from W1, R1, T1, E19, and M1 made entry into the building and got personnel to the roof for ventilation. R1 and T1 drivers worked together to secure utilities and force all exterior doors. As crews entered the building, fire started showing through the roof of the Alpha/Charlie quadrant. At one point, crews were called off the roof due to sagging. Crews were also momentarily pulled from the interior attack for the same reason. Fire was deemed under control around the two hour mark. Overhaul was extensive due to the building construction as fire had extended into the parapet wall void space, and between multiple layers of roof materials. Units remained on scene for approximately 5 hours. The scene was left with the fire investigator and town officials. There were no reports of injuries to civilians or fire-rescue personnel.
