Code 3 For A Cure

The Code 3 For a Cure Foundation stopped by Fire Station One tonight. They told our duty crew about their cause and mission. The foundation drives across the USA and Canada stopping by fire houses along the way. A ceremonial bell sits in a rear jump seat and has the names of fallen firefighter from across the USA that have died from cancer. There is a ceremony at the end of the drive where they ring the bell for each name they collect. So far this year they have over 2500 names.

The purpose of the Code 3 for a Cure Foundation is to: Provide financial assistance to active and retired firefighters diagnosed with cancer who are facing a financial hardship. * Firefighters who receive financial assistance will not be required or requested to repay it. Assist active and retired firefighters diagnosed with cancer by providing them with referrals to other nonprofit organizations, as well as providing them with support by giving encouragement and sharing our experiences. (The Foundation does not provide medical advice.) Provide financial support to other nonprofit organizations conducting cancer research and /or assisting firefighter cancer victims and their families. Best of luck with with your noble mission and efforts!
