Rural Water Supply Training

Members of Companies 1 and 10 participated in rural water supply operations. Tanker nursing operations were demonstrated.  Multiple methods of connecting into a supply line during rural operations were discussed.  Finally Driver/Pumper Operators were trained on drafting using two separate intakes to maximize water flow.  The training was very successful.

Injury – Falcon Glen Rd

Box 0125 was sounded for an injury from a chainsaw.  Battalion 1101, Medic and Engine one responded with 6 personnel.  Upon arrival BC1101 advised incoming crews of a victim that had been struck in the chest by his chainsaw. BC1101 immediately requested AirCare for Fly-Out.  Moments later, Medic and Engine one crews arrived and initiated advanced life …

Commercial Vehicle Fire – Eastern Byp

Box 0135 was sounded for a reported tractor fire. Engine 1 and Tanker 1 responded with 6 personnel. Engine 1 arrived on scene to find the rear of a flatbed trailer off.  Ironically the load was fire retardant lumber. The Engine crew stretched the 200 foot cross lay and flowed foam quickly knocking down the fire. The Tanker arrived …

Structure Fire – Silver Hill Ct

Vehicle Fire – Eastern Byp

Tragic Weekend

Over the past two weeks Company One has been relatively quiet.  The quiet was shattered this weekend by two motorcycle accidents in six hours.  The first was on Green Road and was a head on collision between a motorcycle and automobile.  Unfortunately the driver of the motorcycle did not survive their injuries.  Two other patients …

Extrication Training

The evening was spent training our newest members on the art of extrication.  The training consisted of removing the driver’s side, the roof, and the passenger side.  Our members would like to thank the generous donation of the vehicle for our training prop.
