On Friday, December 2nd units from the WVFC and Fauquier County were alerted to a below grade rescue of a horse trapped in a swimming pool. Crews arrived to find a horse in a in-ground swimming pool that was unable to get out. Crews quickly drained the pool. The Little Fork Large Animal Technical Rescue Team with help from a veterinarian and WVFC personnel safely removed the horse from the pool. All fire department personnel cleared the scene after about three and a half hours. The horse suffered minor injuries, but was thought to be in a good condition after a preliminary evaluation.
