The committee members traveled to Pierce last week. Final inspection allows us the ability to review the completed apparatus and make any corrections before the apparatus is delivered. This week the apparatus is having the items from final adjusted.

This week the apparatus completed testing and final product evaluation. Next week, expect truck to be on the floor for customer inspection.

This week the apparatus was in graphics, testing and alignment. Next week, any follow-up items, trim, etc. will be addressed and the truck will move through final product evaluation. The rescue committee will be traveling to Pierce June 17th to complete final inspection.

Box 0106 was struck for a reported structure fire. Wagon 1 arrived on scene and advised they had a two story school with nothing showing sides Alpha, Bravo, Delta. Battalion 1 held command. A maintenance worker met with the crews advising that work was being completed on the auditorium HVAC unit. The fire was located in the mechanical room which services that area of the building. The fire was extinguished and the affected areas were checked for extension. The fire was contained to the HVAC unit. Smoke from the fire charged the auditorium, gym and main level. Crews worked extensively to ventilate the structure. Mutual Aid from Prince William County was requested for a specialized ventilation apparatus. MVU(Mobile Ventilation Unit)-514 arrived and assisted in completing ventilation. This week, assembly of the apparatus continued with installation of wiring, compartment components, interior body components, etc. Next week, expect assembly to continue with additional components and trim being installed.
Every year Americans look forward to summer vacations, camping, family reunions, picnics, and the Fourth of July. Box 0366 sounded for a Traffic Collision with Entrapment on Interstate 66. Rescue one was added. Arriving on scene the crew assisted with final removal and patient packaging. They also assisted with the establishment of the landing zone for three helicopters.Units on the assignment: BATT1103, E3, W4, M9, R1

This week the committee traveled to Pierce and reviewed progress of the apparatus. All the main components have been installed and mounted. The purpose of the post paint trip is to review progress and ensure the apparatus is being constructed as specified. The next trip will be in mid- June to complete final inspection before receiving the new apparatus. Next week, they will continue with compartment configuration and installing various systems, such as the HURST rescue system and other cab elements.

Box 1009 sounded for a vehicle into a structure on Lee Highway. Crews arrived finding a semi truck cab only with no load into the structure. The driver was not injured. The structure was clear of occupants. The fuel tank holding 60-65 gallons of diesel fuel had ruptured. The hazards were secured and turned over to a cleanup company along with the Virginia State Police. Crews were on scene totaling 4 hours.Units on the assignment: AC1, E1, R1, A10-1

While this years festival was a bit rainy. We enjoyed seeing everyone that stopped by to visit. Hopefully next year will bring the weather we are use to seeing.
