Structure Fire - Box 1103 - Putnams Mill Rd

Sunday, January 20, 2013 18:41 Box 1103 was struck for a Chimney fire.  Within 1 minute of dispatch the fire was upgraded to a structure fire with reported fire in the attic.  Wagon, Rescue, Medic, and AC-1 responded with 11 personnel.  Wagon 11 arrived on scene and reported a two story structure with fire showing on side Charlie and through the roof.  Wagon 1 arrived on scene shortly after company 11 units and went to work assisting with a primary search and fire attack. AC-1 arrived on scene and assisted command while Rescue 1 went to work securing utilities, and assisting with overhaul.  Company 1 units were on the incident for 2 hours.

Vehicle Fire - Box 0103 - Oak Springs Dr

Saturday, January 19, 2013 13:05 Alarm 0103 was sounded for a reported truck fire. Wagon 1 arrived on location with a mid-sized truck with the engine compartment well involved. The fire was quickly extinguished. No injuries reported.

Structure Fire - Box 0111 - Country Lane

Saturday, January 5, 2013 15:25 Box 0111 was struck for a Barn Fire on Country Lane. Wagon, Tanker, Tower, Chief, and Medic-1 responded with 13 personnel.  Wagon 1 arrived on scene with a 25x50 barn fully involved.  Chief 1 established Country Lane Command while crews quickly knocked the fire with two 1.75” hand lines.  The assignment was reduced to W-1, W-7, T-1, K-1, K-8 and M-1 within 15 minutes. Company 1 units remained on scene for overhaul for another 60 minutes.

Traffic Collision - Box 0113 - Meetze Road

Wednesday, December 26, 2012 07:29 Crews have been quite busy running calls, four traffic collisions in less than three hours. They’ve run several vehicles off the road way or overturned. As of the last incident all have been without injury.

Traffic Collision with Entrapment - Box 0410 - James Madison Hwy

Monday, December 24, 2012 17:24 Box 0410 was sounded for a traffic collision reported with rollover. Medic 9 was the first to arrive finding a midsize SUV in its side entangled with the guardrail. Rescue 1 was added to the call along with Wagon 1. Crews arrived and began the process of stabilization. Then crews made access to the occupants and confirmed that they were trapped and pinned by the guardrail. On impact the guardrail folded and entered into the vehicle near the passenger door. This trapped the passenger in place between the seat, B post and guardrail. The driver was also trapped in place by the guardrail which had come all the way through to rest on the driver’s door. A side removal and extract from the rear of the vehicle was completed. Extrication took approximately 50 minutes. Due to weather conditions both occupants were ground transported to INOVA Fairfax Hospital with life threating injuries.

Traffic Collision with Entrapment - Box 0408 - John Marshall Hwy

Monday, December 24, 2012 15:20 Box 0408 was sounded for a traffic collision with entrapment. Rescue one responded for the confirmed entrapment. Units on scene were advising that the driver of one of the SUV’s was trapped. Rescue one arrived on scene and completed a side removal to extricate the occupant. Extrication took approximately 20 minutes.

Structure Fire - Box 1200 - Black Hills Rd

Tuesday, December 18, 2012 01:40 Mutual Box 1200 was sounded to assist Culpeper County with a Chimney Fire.  Chief 1209 arrived on scene and upgraded the call to a working structure fire.  Wagon and Tanker 1 arrived on scene to find a single family dwelling with fire showing from side Charlie. Company 1 crews went to work assisting Engine 1209 with fire attack. The fire was knocked; company 1 units remained on scene assisting with overhaul until released by command.

Vehicle Fire - Box 0137 - Jaclyn Dr.

Friday, December 14, 2012 19:55 Alarm 0137 was sounded for a reported car fire. Wagon 1 arrived locating a 4 door sedan. The fire was located in the engine compartment. It was quickly extinguished. No injuries reported.

Traffic Collision with Entrapment - Box 0101 - W. Shirley Ave.

Sunday, December 9, 2012  Box 0101 was sounded for a traffic collision. Medic 1 was first to arrive finding a two vehicle collision near the intersection of the dispatched location. Wagon 1 arrived. After a scene size up and a review of Medic 1 findings; Rescue 1 was added for the entrapped driver in one of the vehicles. The Wagon crew began extraction until the arrival of the Rescue. Crews completed a side removal to extricate the occupant. A second occupant requested to be evaluated by the ER, which summoned a second ambulance to the scene. Crews operated just over 30 minutes.

Chimney Fire - Box 0111 - Trinity Lane

Saturday, November 24, 2012   Box 0111 was sounded for an active chimney fire. Engine, Tower, Rescue, Medic, Ambulance 1-2 and Asst. Chief 1 responded with 19 personnel. Engine 1 arrived with the Tower. AC-1 arrived and established command. The Engine crew confirmed an active chimney fire. Working with the Tower crew they clear all floors finding no extension. The fire was extinguished and removed from the fire box. Other arriving units were place in service. Secondary checks were completed with no other findings. Crews operated for just under 40 minutes.
