The Warrenton Volunteer Fire Company held the annual open house from 10am-2pm. During this time the citizens were able to take tours of the station, see the apparatus, and engage with the membership to see what it’s like to be a Warrenton Volunteer Firefighter. We would like to thank the Warrenton Town Police, the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office, PHI Air Care, the Warrenton Training Center, and the community for making this event a huge success.

Box 0124 was sounded for a traffic collision reported vehicle overturned with entrapment. Units arrived on scene to find a pick-up truck on its roof in the middle of the road. The driver was out of the vehicle when units arrived. Rescue 1 was diverted to Fauquier Hospital to establish a LZ, while Engine 1 remained on scene assisting Medic 4 with patient packaging and securing hazards.

Box 0220 was sounded for a traffic collision reported with entrapment. Units arrived on scene to find a tractor trailer and a car involved in a T-Bone collision. The driver of the car was trapped and pinned by the dash. Rescue 1 arrived on scene assisted Rescue Engine 13 with extrication. The roof was removed and a dash lift was done to free the patient. The patient was ground transported to Fauquier ER by Medic 14. Rescue 1 remained on scene for approx 20 minutes to help contain an oil leak.

Box 0103 was sounded for a smell on gas in the area of Oak Springs and Hastings Ln. Wagon 1 arrived on scene and reported a stretch of Oak Springs Dr approx 200’ long with gas bubbling form the roadway. Wagon 1 established command and requested additional resources to assist with shutting down the road. Rescue 1 closed off Oak Springs at Branch Dr, while Chief 1 closed Oak Springs Dr near Highland school. Units remained on scene for 2 hours until Columbia Gas arrived and took control of the scene. They reported that a 3” gas main had ruptured under the roadway and they would have to dig up the road to fix it.

The Warrenton Volunteer Fire Company held its annual company training burns. This was a very busy day which allowed members to get live fire training to help progress their firefighting skills. We would like to thank the members from the Volunteer fire companies as well as DFREM for making this training possible.

Box 0367 was sounded for a traffic collision reported with entrapment. Units arrived on scene to find a SUV resting on top of a car. Rescue 1 arrived on scene and went to work stabilizing so extrication could be completed to remove the driver of the car. The patient was ground transported to Fauquier ER by Medic 9.

Box 0367 was sounded for a traffic collision reported with entrapment and rollover. Units arrived finding one vehicle involved located in the roadway on its roof with one trapped and pinned inside. The driver was trapped and pinned by the vehicle roof and roadway. Extrication was complete and airbags were used to lift the vehicle off the patient. The patient was ground transported with life threatening injuries by Medic 9, as AirCare was not available due to weather conditions. No other injuries were reported. Units cleared within 40 minutes.Units on the assignment: E3, M9, R1, E1

Box 0217 was sounded for a traffic collision reported with entrapment. Units arrived finding one vehicle involved located off the roadway on its roof with one trapped inside. The second vehicle involved was off the roadway into the woods. The trapped driver was removed and transported to Fauquier ER. Two others reported minor injuries and were also transported. Alarm 1005 was sounded for an injury. While responding, dispatch advised Medic 1 that the patient had fallen from a horse and was having difficulty remembering the incident. Air Care was requested, and Engine Company 1 was dispatched for the LZ. Engine 1 arrived on scene and set up LZ for Air Care 1.Units on the assignment: E1, M1, A10
